Surf 2 Heal Tramore has arrived!

Tramore was host to the first Surf 2 Heal camp on July 1st & 2nd. It was an amazing 2 days. The children loved it; the parents loved it and the volunteers too. The weather wasn’t great, it was grey and foggy, but the sun was shining in our hearts!!

The feedback from the parents was fantastic, with many parents saying that they have never seen their kids so happy.

Many kids being free, having fun and yes catching waves!

The demand for more camps is growing and therefore the need for fundraising is growing too! Can you help? Organise a gig, run a mile or two?

On behalf of Surf 2 Heal Tramore and Freedom Surf School we would like to give a big thank you to the volunteers, they were excellent with the kids, on and off the water.

The News and Star and the Munster Express came to visit us on the beach, so have a look out in this week’s paper.

The next Surf 2 Heal Tramore camp will be on the 25th 26th 27th of August

limited places available, volunteers needed, that can work part or all of those 3 dates. The camp will be from 10am til 5pm. If people are interested in Volunteering can they please Contact us Here

Surf 2 Heal has arrived! In Tramore!

S2H is Irelands first and only Surf Camp for children with Autism. After huge success in Garrettstown last summer, we have decided to set up S2H clubs around Ireland in conjunction with local Surf Schools. Therefore trying to meet the needs of the children around the country. You will find Surf2Heal in Banna in Kerry, Fanore in Clare, Garretttown and Inchydoney in Co. Cork, and now in Tramore.

Freedom Surf School and Surf 2 Heal have got together to make this happen. Surf 2 Heal is in the process of being registered as an Irish Charity and it is run 100% by volunteers, nobody is making a wage or a profit. Basically, it is up to each community to get involved with organising, teaching, Volunteer on water or land, organising events, fundraising, admin, media coverage, printing, web design, time, energy etc.

Last summer Surf 2 Heal received massive media attention from TV3, Nationwide, Tonnta Irish Surf Mag, The Irish Times, Gerry Ryan show, Evening Echo, numerous Cork local radio stations and there has also been a documentary made about it, which will be shown at this year’s Kinsale Arts Week. I will get a copy and have a showing of it somewhere in Tramore over the summer.
